Yeaaaa... about that. Long story.
However... short end of the stick. I replaced the fuel pump twice.. then I opened up my old carter body (large bore), and lathed up custom end caps so it would house 3 check valves instead of just 2. So it makes a ton of pressure, instead of constantly trying to cavitate a bit of fuel in the inlet chamber as the carters often do. and assumed it was the OFV. I put vice grips on the return and the truck ran beautifully, (in my experience)
After a full day of driving well, it started to shutter and stall again. To the point where I could barely get home. And the primer plunger had no pressure to it. So ****. I know it cant be the OFV. And I replaced the fuel pump twice, then built my own. So I know it couldn't be either of those. Completely flustered, I blew air into the fuel line back to the tank. And not a damn thing happened. Pumped up to 150 psi... POP. Fuel just GUSHED out!. And now spools right up at 50 psi. ugh.... all that.
However to be fair, the original 2 fuel pumps actually were bad.... blown out check valves in both.
