Well.... Now I know...
After last 3 week debacle of chasing gremlins and upgrading everything in the process...
here is the result. I think I was a bit overfueled.... lol. |
what were your numbers?
Ah... right. I wrote the description in the youtube slot, but since it embedded... no on read that.
359hp 820 ft/lbs. Way more than I thought it would make. with some tweaking I think i can get up to 400. |
is this running your hybrid turbo?
Yes sir. Details are in description
I thought you were blaming the OFV?
Yeaaaa... about that. Long story.
However... short end of the stick. I replaced the fuel pump twice.. then I opened up my old carter body (large bore), and lathed up custom end caps so it would house 3 check valves instead of just 2. So it makes a ton of pressure, instead of constantly trying to cavitate a bit of fuel in the inlet chamber as the carters often do. and assumed it was the OFV. I put vice grips on the return and the truck ran beautifully, (in my experience) After a full day of driving well, it started to shutter and stall again. To the point where I could barely get home. And the primer plunger had no pressure to it. So shit. I know it cant be the OFV. And I replaced the fuel pump twice, then built my own. So I know it couldn't be either of those. Completely flustered, I blew air into the fuel line back to the tank. And not a damn thing happened. Pumped up to 150 psi... POP. Fuel just GUSHED out!. And now spools right up at 50 psi. ugh.... all that. However to be fair, the original 2 fuel pumps actually were bad.... blown out check valves in both. |
WTF is that music in the video :s::humm::w2::c:
Oh, phew. You had me concerned there with the potential for a defective OFV from TorkTek.
Yea... I was a little surprised when I thought it failed too.... especially since crimping the return fuel line basically fixed it for the time being. I guess the higher pressure just let whatever debris it was lodge itself further in the line.
