4x4 problems

well i ripped the actuator off of the truck today and took it apart i found that there was a bad o ring in it i replaced it and so far so good! cheep and easy fix.. im guessing if it ever blows out on me again i can slide the coller by hand and put the fork on the opposite side to keep it from disenguageing just go get me out of a jam.. Thanks for all the helpfull info guys i apreciate it... if the actuator ever goes bad again im goin to order that cable set up!!

well i have a new 4x4 problem i was stuck in a mud hole today.... when i clickd into 4x4 hi or lo the light came on but i had no 4x4 after steppin on the skinny pedal for a while from R to D i started hearing a grinding noise from down under!! do you think that my t-case is shot maybe in need of a new chain? or do you think it just wasnt enguaging all the way.. i hve yet to drain fluid im hoppin there isnt any metal in there going to hold off and anything major for now we have some snow storms comming our way and i have to be ready to go.... any sugestions on this??

When we did the tranny transplant on my '98, we had yoke-match nightmares with my old T-case. Got the bright idea to use the front half of the one that was behind the G56, and the back half of my old case. When the shop opened my OEM case, the chain was pretty stretched, so, I might have been one hard pull from throwing it through the housing at an inopportune moment. Perhaps yours is stretched, as well.
