My first rear axle spun the bearings at about 220K. Was told that a common quickie-fix is to attempt bushings or shims and install fresh bearings. Didn't go that route, since it didn't seem like it would be very trustworthy. 2nd axle was built "too tight" and knocked 3 teeth off the pinion. I'm now on axle #3. So far, so good.

I've actually never seen a D70 or D80 explode...

My D80 has seen some hard bashing... still in 100% condition... (knock on wood)

My 9,25" grenaded within 2000km sitting behind my Cummins hehe

My buddy blew up his Dana 80... of course he does 4th gear doughnuts

While we're on the topic of rear ends, I can distinctly feel the LSD in mine when i drive slowly around a turn... I figure this is normal, but is there cause for concern? yes it has enough lube in it..
