Default Weird loud click

I'm not sure what this click is, I have noticed it recently though. I only hear it when the engine is idleing or coasting at idle. It isn't constant with engine RPM at all and happens maybe every minute or so when it happens. It does sound like an electrical click, but I am not sure...

Does anyone have experience?

Sounds like a relay of some sort. It doesn't do it when you have just the key on? I'd check that first because with the engine on it will be hard to find it. Anything fluctuating on your gauges?

I'll wait there with the key in and see, but I have not heard it make that sound when the engine is not running. The voltage does fluctuate slightly, and my gauge cluster and radio lights do fluctuate in brightness slightly as well, but noticeable.

Just a wild guess because they draw so much power to run, but grid heater solenoid activating for no reason? Maybe you have a short telling it to kick on. I'd try unplugging them first then we can go from there.

I feel like 1993firstgennewbie is on to something. I noticed driving the other day, when I would turn the ac or defronst on, it would start the click, and when I did an on an off setion, it clicked everytime I had the system back on one of those options..

Does anyone know what s causing the clicking?
