Default High egt's

Yeah, I know this is my first post. Don't flame me too bad Anyway, truck in my sig, has high egt's and can't figure out for the life of me why. If I mash the go pedal it'll hit 1400 before I can count to ten. Turbo has waste gate line clamped. Hitting 37 psi, boost comes on fast. Tried taking the "clamp" off, boosts to 22 psi, but still hitting high egt's(actually worse). Bought it the way it is, supposedly stock (160 hp p7100) motor swapped from a 94. Was told only thing done to it was the turbo and intercooler. Doesn't hardly smoke at all, runs great actually besides the high egt's. I would assume i was given wrong information (ie pump turned up), but the truck isn't that fast (my buddies stock ve pumped, non intercooled, slightly turned up isn't much slower). Also It's been getting horrible mileage (like 10 @ 70mph highway, about 15 psi and 8-900 egt). It has the a518, 4:10 gears and with the 37's I know it's not gonna get great mileage, but I think I should be gettin better than 10... the truck has a slightly lopey idle compared to other's I've heard, and was thinking maybe the timing is advanced too much? Anyway not really sure where i should start. Any ideas or suggestions are greatly apprecited.

Clean filter, autometer guages. Pretty sure the p-pump has a fuel plate, not a screw. In any case if it or the star wheel/afr were out of adjustment wouldn't I be getting a lot of smoke and bad drivability (neither of which I'm experiencing)?

That's kinda what I was thinking... I have water meth off my old truck that I am planning on installing and I know it will help but I'd like to figure out if I have an underlying problem first... Last thing I wanna do is use a band aid fix just to find out something major is wrong when it's too late

What air filter are you running? 37 psi boost might be the problem anything after 32 on the stock turbo it will start to get hot. Make sure the exhaust is not restricted. If you have a stock air intake a good cold air system should cool it down.

are you running a cw or ve turbo?

TIME OUT!!! is this at WOT ***** to the walls driving? if so im on a different page. i can burry my 1500* pyro if i so choose with a good WOT run but just crusing or stoplight to stop light nothing over 1000* ever. hard pulls or extended runs, say up a grade or just seeing if you can hit a 100mph on the highway will skyrocket EGT's. ALSO the he351cw is an awsome little turbo but its downfall and what makes it awsome is its teeny tiny little turbine housing, so it is great off the line and pulling you trailer around but at WOT with any kind of extra fuel they tend to get hotter faster.
