Default Thermostat?

Is it necessary to change the inner seal when installing a new thermostat? 12 valve

not sure on a cummins but I would think it would be like any other thermostat. I'd replace it.

Ive hear that you can change the stat and not replace it - but for what it costs, why not just change it?

Doesnt the new tstat come with the seal?
