I just spun all of the other pulleys and the alternator also makes noise ( thats how I came to the conclusion it was the water pump). I've never heard of just changing the alternator pulley. But is it possible to take the pulley off the alternator just to clean it and lube it?

And thank you for the fast responses everyone.

The pulley isn't what makes the noise, its the bearings in the alternator itself. Unless you have the time, resources, and patience, rebuilding one can be tricky. Installing a new or re-manufactured Alternator is the simple fix.

Tensioner pulley is also common to go out and near the alt pulley so make sure that's where the noise is coming from before you tear something off that you didn't need to.
