advice on truck thats for sale
96 ram 2500. 126,xxx. Super clean. 12 valve cummins. Freshly rebuilt rearend with posi. Autometer phantom boost and pyro gauges. Pacbrake 4k gsk. All 12 60lb valve springs. Fuel plate removed. Billet single disc torque converter. Suncoast extreme duty tranny rebuild kit w/ red eagle clutches and kolene steels as well as a billet 1-2 lever and acumulator. Exhaust is factory with a stretch of 4" where the cat and muffler used to be. Everything done to the truck right at 115k miles. The only problems with the truck are that the paint is finally starting to flake a little on the hood and the a pillar that the gauge pod mounts to needs to be swapped out. I broke the clip when I installed the gauges. Truck also has 3rd gen aluminum 17" rims with good tires and 3rd gen style tow mirrors. Front end also completely rebuilt with all mooge parts and aligned at about 115k miles. Gets right at 23 mpg highway. I am a diesel mechanic and drive the truck daily from kemp to dallas (about 90 miles round trip) and there are 0 mechanical issues with it.

Well 6 speeds were put in the 24v trucks and the post is about a 12v. Are you shopping for a 12 or 24 valve or just a tow rig in general. I would recommend a 12v with a 5 speed but the setup in the post doesn't sound bad. I would yank off the stock exhaust and run a full 4-5". Also might have to put a plate back in it when towing but those can be had for cheap.
I like the truck its just, i've hauled with auto 12v and the stock tranny sucked. But I was curious to know what a suncoast tranny would be like with the additional mods. I think Im going to go with manual.
I appreciate the input Ricet
