A 55 is a little big for a single and be driveable. By itself, it would be pretty laggy. I have a 55 that I'm going to use in a for a low budget set of towing twins.

unless you plan on only hooking it to a sled, forget using it as a single.

it would be under the hx35. the best i can find is there is a relativly large aray of sizes the 55 came in, but the compressor wheel looks to be in the relhm of a 63 to 64mm. if this is the case there isnt much point in using it as a primary. its not going to give you the CFM you are after. measure the thing for sure but from what ive found the 52 has a bigger comp wheel than the 55, the exhaust wheel is much larger in the 55 compared to the 52. again i am far from 100% on this info.

Ok, i guess i will get quicker spool up with the Holset HX55 on the BMW M30 motor than with the Holset HX52, so the HX52 will have better exhaust flow than the HX55 on the Cummins so i would plumb the HX52 under the HX35...

This should put me in the 550-600hp range without losing the ability to tow around, all of these turbos are non wastegated so i will run the biggest wastegate i can find and weld it to the exhaust manifold....
