'94 with converter problem
We have a 1994 Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins 4X4 with 4.11 gears, 16.5 degree advance on the timing(if that makes sense, we just got it), #10 fuel plate that is in the middle, cold air box, 3200 governor spring, and on the test runs it gets 39lbs of boost. The converter get mushy on the bottom end. We want to know what RPMs a stock converter for this truck would run at and what Patco converter would be a good one to replace with? The 1800, the 1500, or the 1300 RPM stall converter?
Ur killing ur stock converter. The min u put one thing on stock auto trans it starts to take its toll. Triple disc is what u want just watch launches w one w o having atleast billet flex plate n billet input
We ended up going with the 1500 Stall from Pat Co Transmissions Parts out of Louisiana and the guy there, I forgot his name, set us up with the one we have, the non billet internal one, definitely not the one to go with on diesels. Pat Co Transmissions has been doing us right for years on all our hotrods(gasoline) we just did not have a clue when it came to messing with hooking up the tranny to the Cummins at all. But I think it was Josh that set us straight.
