I think I can handle it, Ive been dealing with my cousins for the past month, .

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

First before you look and programmers, get guages, and prep everything to handle the power its gonna suck to spend 500 bucks that can cost thousands in repair to your transmmision. The auto trannies a dependable, if you take care of them and they are in good shape, if you can take it to a mechanic, because from what I can tell you not no offence spending 50 bucks before you drop 7 grand is will worth the investment. Fist before you buy this truck what is the purpose of this truck? Work, Play or Both? and it looks like its not for smoke no more... I know it cool at first but it gets old...

emmm I think truck number two still my favorite got 154K new front end and powersterring yea these other trucks have upgrades, but this guy judging from his attitude of his writing proably abused it, I had a friend who sold his dodge looked real nice and had upgrades and said it was a WHOLE LOTA TRUCK, but I knew how many gremlins it had, and it was alot, but if you like it talk to him and check it out but I think number may be the best purchase you want somthing that will last you a while, and dont be scared to negotiate when I bought my truck the guy wanted 7200 and I got it for 6700 because I nailed him for every little thing, but he was a very nice guy I was the first and only one to look at the truck I bought and he held onto it till the bank came thru so Im one happy camper. Like I said its better if you do the upgrades your self so you know how the were installed and what it has and keep all your reciepts to prove it just incase you sell it, My truck had records from the day the owner bought it 9 years ago, and I go them now, so I know what been replaced and when. A new front end is worth just as much as some of the upgrades, and the upgrades are the easy and fun stuff repair and maintaince burns holes in you FUN money.

Also feel free to take pictures of the truck and we can help pick on things and sometimes take away the joy of having that truck if you know what I mean, but number 2 still my choice.

Yeah bud. Listen to the guys like us with experience in buying and selling vehicles wherefore gas or diesel. In this case being a diesel with an automatic trans go for the unmolested 98 with low miles.

No problem, I love the smell of diesel in the mornin,(is it me or does every diesel have it own smell IE Dodge, Ford, Chevy) BUT dont rush into a buy you might regret, if you got a concern let us know and we may tell ya to move on or its nothing major. My last rig a a 95 Dakota with a 3.9 that Ive had since I was 17, but it got backed into, got a 2K check to fix it only paid 2300 then sold it for 1250 so I made 3250 off of it and put every dime into my Dodge. IF you get a truck do the simple stuff oil change, fuel filter, Get guages at least a fuel PSI guage its worth every penny and the 98' are easy to install on since the fuel filter has two screw in that you can plug the solenoid into. And like said above Beer and buddies turning wrenches are fun. But as much as I love Colorado Drinkin Water (COORS) I have learned that beer and installing stuff with you buddies also drinkin leads into delemas and delays, luckily never my truck and Im glad I only drink a beer an hour...
