Ideas For Better Fuel Mileage?

With all this stuff there is to buy i think i am going just wait till my sister goes outta town and sell her car to pay for all my stuff.
Either that or i'm gonna have to start muggin people
nah. but so i'm confused... i've heard that i need it and that i dont need it.
There needs to be a list that's like "These are the cheapest parts that get you the most horsepower and keep chances of breaking stuff to a very low percentage." ...Not sure if that made sense...
However! if you do know what i meant and you have a great combo that costs as close to 800 (or less that'd be great) then let me know what it is.

When you are talking about 600+ RWHP, there is NO cheap way.. 600+ is definate Full trans, PPE+2 or EFI, gauges, Lift pump, exhaust, and Turbo.. Stock turbos are good for 500-550 RWHP..
This is definately not a cheap hobby.. Sounds to me like youve been bitten by the Diesel bug.. Always remember, a Diesel is NEVER done..

Hmmm. yeah i really dont wanna have to drop so much money on a turbo... But hey if it'll get me movin fast then i guess i will eventually have to. But for now i am just gonna stick to basics. I dont really wanna spend more than $800 or so on this firts group of purchases which is why i'm just getting gauges, PPE standard, and sleeves.
(Truck i'm gettting may end up a little different but oh well. Still will most likely be an 05 Chevy/GMC)

You have a long way to go before you need a turbo. Do you know how much 500 to 600 hp is?? I've been in a truck that dyno'ed over 400rwhp and it's a rocket. Add another 1-200hp
Best advise is to start small and shop wisely. Like we say in the biker world, "chrome won't get you home", so avoid 'bling' and high dollar advertising.
Change the intake all the way to and including the mouthpiece. Do headers and up pipes, down pipe, cat delete 5" pipe all the way back. Since you are not towing, do electric fans and pull the clutch fan. Time for a lift pump while you are at it. You have now highly increased your hp/torque without even touching the programming. You are just letting the engine breath and do it's job.
Now get a programmer. Since you are going ***** to the wall, might as well get EFI Live and jump in with both feet. There are plenty of people and free tunes willing to help with EFI Live, just be careful with it.
When you smoke your tranny, then it will be a good time to upgrade. If you still want more, then we can talk turbos, rods, etc....

Yes actually i do. Not in a truck though. But my buddy's dad has a Shelby Cobra with about 500hp and is insane! We were about sideways doin 60 and then quickly got to 110 after we straighten out.
^^^Expensive much? And how much is "highly increased"??
I've been told about EFI Live. And I really don't like the idea.
I'd much rather stick with PPE.
Yeah... this could be awile. So we'll wait and see
Thanks alot for the feedback :]

And I totally agree. Of course when mine finally dies/explodes...then I guess it'll be done.
But of course if that happens I'll be starting on my next one!
