i wonder how much the MAF airflow is effecting it. i know on the LLYs when you change the turbo inlets on them you have to adjust for it or they dont run right.....just thinking out loud

I it can affect low end performance because fueling is also determined by Maf readings, top end can be affected by well its not corrected in the tune. But its already adding the demanded am mount of fuel so it appears to be tuned for top end

yeah i knew it effected fueling. i've tuned a few for the lbz turbo inlet because they had swapped the inlets then the trucks wouldnt run right. i just wasnt sure how much it would effect this application. i did notice that he said the expected tables were widened so it may not be effecting it any at all.

Yeah on the top end seeing that snapshot of the log it appears not to be affecting the fueling at all.
Although the fueling tables do go up to 120mm³ and his fuel_mainmm³ is at 102 maxed out and some tables require the requested fuel amount to at 120mm³ to achieve maximum fueling.

But that is also dependant on the tune as well. And it looks like its been accounted for on the other tables

one thing he can do on table B1010 is to change the value of the last two cells to zero. This will allow the FCA to be fully open and maybe adding more fuel under WOT. Its probably already been done already though.

Seems airflow thru the engine is the rpm hold up dosnt it

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Nick at duramaxtunners wrote the base DSP5 set up for me, based on 50hp injectors not 50%. Reason position 4&5 are way out there on PW and kept in reserve for testing slots. We made some adjustments to the fuel pressure down low to correct the idle, then I've just cleaned up all the stuff like MIL indicators, limp mode issues, and small things so she runs smooth with no DTC's. Now it's down to the fine tuning.

Our original plan was to install Nick's little rich/lean controller on the MAF [which I've yet to do] and use that to adjust the fuel rate down low so she spooled quicker with the bigger prop. Since the intake and injector changes solved the spool time, I kinda skipped out on that part. Nick offered to remap these tunes, but it's darn close right now and I enjoy the learning the process. He is pretty busy this time of year and I've hand tuned many a EFI car back in the early 90's.. This is much easier work..

I had a MAF failure last fall and it ran fine without, until exceeding the MAF testing parameters in the tune around 3000 R's, she then bounced the fuel flow rate on and off. Have a good log of that happening. I attempted to write it out completely, but opted to just replace the MAF and leave the tuning alone.

Like you guys noticed, tune is maxed out up top against the tables, so I feel the MAF table is a side note worth keeping in mind for future adjustment. Right now I'm going to get that drive pressure reading and hook up these temp probes in the intake and exhaust so we can chart turbo performance to the curve. I'm just feeling she is outa air also..
