Default What company should I get my tranny from?

Who should I be getting my tranny from? Suncoast, ATS, or PPE? So far my understanding was that sun coast has the premium product for a premium price, ATS is overpriced and PPE is best value for a great transmission with money left over to upgrade to a suncoast converter. As for my power plans, I was gonna go like this: stock trans safe efi live, lift pump (airdog 2), trans upgrade, stock turbo safe efi live, turbo, then stock motor safe efi live tuning. I would be doing all supporting mods throughout but thats for another thread, another time. This should put me in the 600-650hp range but I hate doing stuff twice so I was planning on getting the full blown 1000hp tranny the first time round. Any input is appreciated. Fire away.

600 is a lot of f***ing HP!!!! I would definitely do a stage 5 suncoast build... From what I have heard steer clear of ATS

Have someone build you a transmission with Suncoast Parts.

600hp is going to be pretty difficult without rods, pistons, head studs, and cp3 upgrades

Sorry, I forgot about those damn cp3's. Still a 12v guy I guess haha. Thanks for the advice guys I was leaning towards suncoast myself. A local guy here swears by his PPE trans. Any thoughts between Suncoast and PPE with a suncoast converter?

X2 on lukes comment. Don't waste your money on a mail order trans. Have I built local, its the only smart way. If your local to mike at Inglewood transmission he's still the most educated on this transmission.

mike at Inglewood transmission +1

long drive for someone in Canada though. i would go with a suncoast transmission. i think the G-Max replaced the stage 5. having a transmission shipped straight from suncoast may be the way to go if you cant find a local guy. i believe when getting it straight from suncoast you get an extended warranty with it. shipping can be a pain with a transmission though.

Thanks for the input guys! Im definitely leaning towards sun coast but I'll talk to my local diesel performance shop first I think. Maybe he can rebuild my stocker so I dont have to deal with core charges and all that stuff. Not to mention the huge shipping fees

Don't kid yourself, they will use the same kit you want and pass the cost of shipping on to you

I have heard good things about PPE kits as well, and for a converter you may want to look into precision industries, Precision Industries and ask for the Mike L converter

For a good price on the kits you can check out www.atptrucks.com, the sell the PPE kits
