LB7 intake box mod
#22
Get a 2" test plug from the hardware store.
Pull off the resonator box and plug the tube going into it.
Make sure to use a lock nut or locktite to keep that damn thing in there right, dont want that plug/wing nut/washer falling loose
then shove the resonator box back on and tighten the clamp back up.
As long as you have a straight pipe this sounds f'ing SICK!!!!
The spool up is nice but the lb7's stop roaring soon as you let off the throttle so the whistle lasts a while and sounds WAY better than any other engine.

Is there a custom intake tube available like the ones for the Afe intakes that still hooks to the stock air filter? I like the stock filtration system, but I want some mad turbo whistle.
The plug idea is alright, but it's incredibly dry where I live, and the temp goes from 32-65 regularly, so I'm worried about it cracking and falling apart.

Definantly more louder. However I have an open element K&N which probably helps. The turbo noise seriously echos off walls and buildings now plus low boost (<10psi) is maybe two times louder. I didn't believe it at all but everyone that rides in my truck with the windows down always mentions something.
