Default Clutch slipping cause of cruise control?

I was wondering if it was possible for my clutch to slip using cruise control, my clutch had been slipping for awhile in 6th gear and I've come to the conclusion that's Its cruise control that does it, I stopped using it for about a month now and hasn't slipped since. I was wondering if this was even why it was or just a coincidence and if using cruise control on a standard with cause slippage.
