I'm new to this site and in the middle of a repower of my 97 2500. I bought the marine injectors from SS and have them installed on the fresh block. After reading this thread and some other thread here and elsewhere. They are now coming out and going into the trash for all I care. Everything Else performance wise came from heath. I guess this is a long way of saying thank you for the heads up. I'd rather lose a little money now than than all the money on this build and the hours of my labor on some part that I tried to save money on. Lesson learned Thanks again.

Default way to keep an old thread going

I just joined the site due to this thread and id like to thank everyone in this thread as well as who all are regestered on this site. im going to be swapping an old 6.2 into my 95 K1500 stepside in search of decent fuel economy as well as power. i was looking at the injectors from ssd and thanks again for the info so i dont waste money on my project. im going with the 6.2 because of the price and because i already have the turbo and exhaust manifold off the 6.5, not to mention i got the motor for $50. its mostly there and turns over but has been outside under a tarp for 7+ years. i plan on an over haul first but im looking for ideas. as of right now i need a mechanical injector pump, lines, injectors, intake from a 6.5, and the fuel filter housing. sorry for the long winded post and thank you in advance for the advice.

a wrecking yard is going to be your best bet for the parts you need unless someone sees your post & they have or know someone that has the parts your needed parts - mechanical pumps are harder to come by for the 6.5 - they only were used for 1 year. good luck w/your project

my 6.5 runs great but id like to try and put a fmic on it. any thoughts? also i quickly realized that intake maifold has that pipe that is part of the casting, that goes almost all the way over to the turbo. so id have to get a different intake, anybody have suggestions on that?

94 k-1500 ext cab shortbed, with the 6.5L turbo diesel. all stock at the moment
