Default 99 overheating

Ok guys I found a guy with a 99 ext cab 5 speed long bed that wants to trade for my f150 and he wants my truck. Well he text me tonight and said it started over heating running 60 mph and was at 230 degrees.he said normally it would run 180-210.what could cause this to overheat? He cleaned the radiator an no change. Should I stay away from this truc or no?

Thermostat would be cheap to try and see if it fixes the problem
