i had some on my 94 and they came from a 01.. only down side is they where power and my truck was no power... hey ugly if u wanted to get rid of ur none powers let me know plz i will deff buy em or trade ya something...

 

So I bought a shattered mirror face towing mirror from an 03 (3nd gen) off ebay that was cheap so i could try the base swap that i read about several years ago. it did not work. I then went back to the forum site that I used to frequent alot to find and reread it. it appears that their servers crashed a while back and they have not been able to recover most of the archived stuff that was lost. That article/tech writeup was one of the lost items. It was the "DodgeTruckWorld" forum site and the thread was titled "3rd gen towing mirrors on a 2nd gen truck". I was able to find it by searching through my "Threads Posted to" stats, (Same User name there as here and everywhere else I frequent) but couldn't get to the article.

I tried the swap and found out that the parts do not interchange.... I WAS WRONG>>> Man it hurts to say that you would think i would get used to it eventually wouldn't you?

I dont know if I understood the info wrong, was lied to, or what, but i really hope anyone I unintentionally educated with the wrong info reads this and doesn't have to waste their time and money to find this out.

as far as the OEM power heated towing mirrors go.....I was told by my dealer that they were not available power or power heated until the 3rd gen. maybe there were some dealers selling aftermarkets as oem, but untill someone can provide me with a dodge part # for the factory power heated towing mirrors, I will continue to say that they were not an OEM option. (Im not afraid to admit that I am wrong, but I wont do it untill you prove it to me . )

DMAX Killer.... I have thought about selling them but I am kind of a packrat. shoot me an offer if you want them, that goes for anyone else too.

they are a pair of stock manual OEM Towing mirrors, mirror glass has been replaced in both of them, replacement glass was not available at the time so I had it cut by a local glass shop. it is standard reflective mirror so "Objects in mirror are exactly as far away as they appear". some of the silverback is flaked off the inside, no cracks or breaks though and I have another set of replacement mirrorglass that goes with them. I have pics i will try to post.
