A tune is all I did to my '06. As far as I am concerned, that's really all it needs, anything beyond that and your mileage will drop significantly. DMF is the Dual mass flywheel, they have been known to be a huge problem on those cars. Several very long threads on the topic. Love my Jetta.

I have a rocketchip tune (RC1+). Made a very noticeable difference in power. I was tempted to take things further, but after discussing options over at TDIclub, and with members at several meet and greets, I decided against it. The reason being that with the RC1 mileage has remained the same although the tune adds around 40rwhp, but anything else beyond that will drop mileage in a very significant way according to those who have done it, not to mention the very high cost of the mods. For power I have the CTD, the Jetta is mainly for economy and I intend to keep it that way. Trust me, the tune alone is very nice. May not be enough for you, but for me it was. My '06 has close to 55k on it already and I couldn't be happier with it.

They're both good, so I'd say go for it.

have you ever had dealer probs with the rocket chip?
I go to the dealer all the time for warenty probs and to get oil changed they do it cheaper than I can buy the oil+ filter. They usually reflash and this helps power when they do it.

would that effect a rocket tune, reflashing?
