Default Pullin with a 6 Speed, Durability?

So from what I have read from multiple forums, it seems as if trucks that pull with a Nv5600 have them last, and push out big numbers of power with them, where as trucks who haul trailers seem to break them more often, such as twisting off the main shaft... Whats the difference that is causing this? It is shifting gears as applying WOT with the instant stop and go of torque twisting the shaft?

I would have thought this topic would have exploded at people having something to say..

Post it up in the 12v and 24v sections. One thing to think about is that pulling trucks usually are rebuilt every winter atleast. Sometimes more often depending on class. Trans, T-case, axles, engine, everything gets gone through with a fine tooth comb. A 200K mile nv5600 isnt as well taken care of as a pulling one.

I have never heard of a NV5600 twisting off the main shaft. NV 4500 you can twist them off. I cracked the case and spun a bearing on a NV 5600 but I was in low range and my foot slipped off the clutch with a 32,000 pound trailer on the back

guys do break the 5600s sled pulling with them, seems they tend to break closer to the tail usually while pulling 5th on the low side, usually only 800hp or so trucks

g56s seem to break 2nd gear fairly often if pulling 2nd gear in the high side with much over 700hp

nv4500 still seems to be the most durable trans as long as you stay in 4th on the low side with them, they do not like 3rd gear they tend to break the main shaft where it steps down

I have a g56 and only pull 5th low the case will flex if you pull other gears and cause the gears to not mesh correctly.

I pull 4th 4lo with my nv5600 with 6 hooks so far. That's with around 500-550hp? On 35" mug grapplers
