Ok so I've been keeping up on this thread and am curious about something. When you guys are talking gear selection are you referring to starting in 2nd gear with the setup as
R-1-3-O/D
L-2-4

Or
R-2-4-6
1-3-5

??

we were talking about a 5spd not a 6spd for the 2nd high.

for a 6speed 4th low is the ticket with 3.55's

drive shafts yes, the stock clutch, not so much. sometimes they do, most times they dont.if u have stock power, u may get by with pulling on a stock clutch, but it will hurt it regardless of power.

With a 6spd, 4th lo would be a good choice, it is just slightly faster than 3rd in a 5spd, which I think would be about right for my truck, I have pulled it twice in 3rd lo, (5spd) and a little more wheel speed wouldn't hurt, but I know I don't have enough for 4th in the 5spd

You can never have too much wheel speed in my opinion...it just depends on how aggressive your tires are, and how much power you are working with, and what track you are pulling on...personally i have a 5-spd with 3.54's with 35x13.50 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's and I pull in 4th low.

In a 5 spd, 4th gear is your straight threw gear. In a 6spd, 5th is your straight threw gear. I have pulled in 2nd high a few times and depending on the track is also a decent gear selection as long as it is a tight track.
