Default Brand new to pulling

Hey everyone, I've been going to a few pulls and it's something that I would like to try out. I have only watched and haven't been able to make my way around to ask questions. I will be running a 2007 F-350 4x4 stick shift. Any tips on packing equipment, I drag race so I would assume most of the same items will be going. How to launch, what gear to start in (stock clutch so I can't put it in 3rd and slip it, I use 2nd at the drags). Any information you guys want to throw at me to help me not destroy my truck. I'm looking at an HMR twin disc clutch, I already know that my stock clutch won't last more than a few pulls with a sled, yes that has been considered.
