I run a set of homemade Caltracs on a 340 Plymouth 1/4 mile car and they are the best mod I ever made to that car. The thing hooks like the rear tires are glued to the pavement. Here's the deal, don't be fooled by the first pic of an old slapper bar:
Traction
I almost put a set on the 1st Gen but decided to try something different, just for the hell of it. If anyone has any actual reasons besides "I heard..." or their "opinion," let's hear it. They are an excellent, effective means of controlling axle wrap in a leaf spring rear suspension. Better by far than 90+% of the bolt on solid I-don't-care-how-long-they-are POS bars I see on alot of trucks.
