Default DHRA's ruling on lap tops

Gene said we can we can no longer run lap tops in our trucks during WS and DS Classes, because its an unfair to the mechanical pump guys. Then he comes back with
"Too many times, I have seen pullers, such as Tomac, with their head in the computer screen, and not watching whats going on around them. Like the flagger, the hooker, etc."
So come on mechanical pump guys where ya at? Ya must not like a little competition.:pc:

I can understand where he's coming from. A quick glance is alright just as glancing at your gauges would be. But when you don't look up then it can be unsafe.

no it only takes one bad apple to ruin it for everyone.. they are most likely lumping it all together so they dont have to babysit. its esier for them to just not have any laptops in the trucks than picking and chossing who gets to use them. and they cant be accused of playing favorites that way. its the right way to go about it. And am i in no way afraid of guys tuning their turcks just idiots tuning theirs trucks twhen they need to be paying attention to their surroundings.

I imagine the use of a laptop is for data gathering and logging. I seriously doubt anyone is making changes to there tune during the 15 seconds it takes to go 300 feet.
