445,000 miles on my lb7 duramax with the original old 5 speed auto trans, I hotshot for a living. I also have a 2008 2500 duramax fully loaded 116,000 miles, no problems.

that was for true mileage comparisons, a lot of dodge numbers are inflated.

isusu has a comparable track record to cummins, except the duramax is lighter and more powerful.

also, if you could provide me with some proof?

Who uses Isuzu engines?
The world’s most profitable equipment operators! Isuzu engines are used around the globe in non-road and on-road applications. Besides being a leading truck producer, Isuzu is also a favorite supplier to some of the largest equipment makers in the construction industry. We supply high performance diesels to many major OEM’s, namely Hitachi - also branded John Deere, Sumitomo Construction Machinery – also branded CASE and New Holland, JCB, Kawasaki, and TEREX. Isuzu engines are used widely in excavators, wheel loaders, fork trucks, skid steer loaders, air compressors, generators, pumps, and other niche equipment models.

the majority of those companies use cummins motors in multiple applications as well. maybe not hitachi or sumitomo but i don't know too much about the foreign named equipment manufacturers

Propperly maintained, either truck will handle the load fine. Improperly maintained, either truck will fail in short order.

Yeah, I guess I just restated what you said,I was tired of the pissing match between the brand loyalists. Either of these trucks should be fine as long as they've been maintained, pick the one you like.

I have a 32' travel trailer and towed it with a 2010 chevy 3500 gas dually. The truck struggled up hills and was tough to see all the diesel trucks hauling TT's blow by me like i was sitting still. not to mention my fuel mileage sucked.

You can't go wrong with either truck... Are you going to work on it yourself?
