holy CRAP! That thing is a monster. That's amazing! I always thought that the larger an engine was the less efficient it gets, just so much mass being thrown around. But that is actually the most efficient engine I've ever seen...I wonder what a 5L could do if they made one scaled down.

It's because America stopped focusing on efficiency and started focusing on wages. Germany, Japan, others focus on efficiency in the work place and in their designs. People here have gotten lazy and too concerned with money. No other reason than that.

It would be a dog. Industrial engines are much more efficient and make much less pollution than the engines in your car. However the thing to remember is that, #1 they only do so in a very limited RPM range. Outside of that they don't run real well.#2 They are not built to accelerate. They are made to run at a certain speed. And the size of engine needed to make the horsepower and maintain the emmision levels is more than you think.

IT takes 14 C.I. in that engine to make 1 Horsepower Where a 215 HP cummins only needs 1.6.

That thing has more torque than the saturn V rocket does thrust (5,000,000 lbs). Its the one that carried the men to the moon. Thats amazing.
