I hear ya there, I have drove a few old petes, Frieght Shacker and a old auto car those were trucks. Let out on the clutch and use your God Given senses to drive. My uncle has a newer Pete with a Cat in it and it is so quite and takes nothing to drive it. I miss driving the old Cab over KW with the detroit in it, man that thing loved to be wound tight.

When you thought it was gonna blow up, you knew it was just about time to shift.

Yeah, I could barely reach the pedals back then. Coming up out of the gravel pits with my uncle hearing him yell "Put it to the floor till ya hear the valves start to float then grab another gear." I love rowing the gears.

My bro in law has a cabover international straight truck with a 318 detroit and a 13 speed. Some friends of his that truck said to drive a detroit, " slam yer hand in the door, then get in and drive mad!" haha Always thought that was funny!

Ya you have to be mad to to drive a Detroit or you will be after you listen to that SOB scream at you none stop. For a daily driver I like the new diesels, but for at toy the old ones.
