i see this is a couple days old, but no one mentioned plastic totes...big ones filled with sand...sand can be used for traction like said before, and they can be strapped in easily and removed easily if needed

That is a good idea. The only issue would be them breaking in the bitter cold.
Thanks!

Here in Ohio I use 4 -150# rear wheel weights and 8 bags of 80# mix.
Weights go up against the wood blocks against the tool box, Pack the sand bags so they don't move . 1240# of solid weight .In the spring roll it all off on a pallet and put it away for next year.

I have a 1" solid steel plate, 2' wide wheel well to wheel well bolted down in the back. I could probably double it now since I have airbags. Not quite sure what it weighs but I can't lift it 1/2" off the ground on my own. 600lbs at least, took 2 of us to get it into the box.

i think bobby said once that if you shovel the snow from your driveway into the bed of your truck it'll weigh a good bit and best of all when it warms up and you don't need it anymore it melts itself....

I was thinking a nice chunk of track from CN Rail. But again you have to bolt it down real good (and would probably need a forklift to take it in/out of the truck).
I saw a pic somewhere of a guy that had put dozer track in his bed for weight.

IDK if it's been mentioned but I used to pack the bed of my truck with snow... Gave me a little extra weight for traction and melted out as it warmed back up.
