I use to pull a jeep behind my motorhome. It was a automatic 4 wheel drive. I always put the transfer case in neutral and left the gear select in park. That was how it worked with a jeep but not sure if the same would apply with our trucks

It's recommended to disconnect the front drive shaft if your gonna tow these trucks front axle down, can't tell ya exactly why. But why not just make a car dolly. They are way overpriced to buy but really simple to make and cost almost nothin in material.

If you make a car dolly just remember how heavy the front ends of these trucks are. A regular car dolly wouldn't handle the weight.

For normal folks a single 7000 pound axle works just fine for this. In my case I have an old horse trailer with a pair of 5000 pound drop axles on it that I'm gonna strip apart and make a dual axle car dolly out of them.

Wow. That would be soooooo illegal here in BC.
You wouldn't go to jail or anything, but man, the tickets.

yup... works OK for lighter stuff... Lot's of people flat tow there Jeeps/Yotas to trail and such... Not as good as a trailer but ALOT Cheaper. Just trying to find a way to get my Junk to the pulls... I feel bad everytime I have to ask to borrow a trailer and I know my buddies are getting tired of me borrowing them.

That has an NP205 transfer case right? And locking hubs? If it has both you should be able to put the case in neutral and unlock the hubs.

Now you only have to figure out how to stop it because trailers that size have brakes and that's gonna be a tough thing to figure out.

Alot of those RV's towing little cars or even large SUV's use this type system:
Even Brake Towed Car Braking System - Camping World
RV Travel, Trailer Travel, RV Satellite, RV TV, - Camping World

They also have the trailer hitch mount on the towed vehicle:
BlackHawk 2 All-Terrain Tow Bar - Camping World
