My dad and i have used adjustable drop hitches for years and they are worth the $130. Never buy another hitch and save money in the long run. Just get the one from tractor supply. If you aren't near one, order it online from the website. Only complaint is it's heavy. But if you remove 3 pins, it dis-assembles and is much lighter. Pay now or pay later.

Our adjustable one came from tractor, but it's a solid type. It is not a piece of square tube. It is a solid chunk. We once pulled 19k on it. Still use it to this day. The 2 5/16 is rated for 10k. A duplicate wouldn't be hard to make. Sounds like a project in the works!!!

I would get weight distribution for that weight class 3 hitches are only rated for 6000lbs without and 10000lbs with weight distribution normally your other option would be to get a class 5 if you don't want to screw around with the extra parts either way a 10" drop is easy to get I'm only suggesting you go this direction for legal reasons I wouldn't want you to get fined or worse have have your insurance not cover you in a accident from useing wrong hitch also check your gross combined weight on your insurance I've had customers have problems with the factory ratings being to low this is in canada so your area might not be so bad but I would think it would be similar everywhere my inlaws own a hitch shop that i've worked at for 6 years now they've been in business since 1973 and this is info I try to tell all of our customers
