Ford never made an F-250 Dually. If it is an F-250 it was a single rear wheel. Also if it was a dually you would notice that the rearend is wider.

 

they might have been conversions but they are out there........

extra long wheel studs is also an indication, DOES THE TRUCK HAVE DUALS OR SINGLES ON IT NOW??????

 

yea i have seen them, i think there all conversions though, because most dont have dually rims on the front

 

then ill throw the F250 i got setting in the front yard in with them.....my brother swapped his 1989 F250 over to a dually and the front is still the same......i just put a new door and fender on it yesterday......

 

There are no dually front rims. I could see business decal outlines for an electric company. I'm guessing it was a dually with a contractor style utility box on the back end, which was probably reused. Thus answering the question of a conversion of some type.

With that said, if I want to put duallys on the back, what size do I need? Rear duellys on the back are typically smaller than the front tires are they not?

Is the suspension or springs on a dually any different than a non-dually? I was wondering that would be an indication or not?

all of the tires match on a dually or should, i would run 235/85/16's all the way around, they are a great size and very common......and a dually maybe have an extra spring or two.....

 

Pardon my lack of dually knowledge... Are the rear dually rims one piece or two piece rims? Also are the front dually rims just for looks? If I wanted to run front dually rims, do I need any adapters?

On a side question... I need some rocker panels and some cab corners... Anyone have a good (cheap) source besides J.C. Whitney?

And... Since this is a modified forum, what would be the basic upgrades (any good sources?) I should get for a 6.9L v8 International that is in my 87' F250?

any 16" dually rim made after the late 70's should be a 1 piece, it will have a outter wheel and a inner wheel, they can be swapped for either inner or outter unless you have aluminum outters, when you say 2 piece im gonna assume your talking about the old style 16.5 split rims, you will need a set of F350 dually adapters/hubs to convert to the "budd" dually wheels in the front, go over to the 7.3/6.9 forum and i got a thread on how to turn the 6.9 up and a cheap source for sheetmemtal is Brown's Truck Parts in Michigan.......
