Question Flat Tire

Got my first flat in my stock Michellins yesterday. It's a nail.

Does anyone have, use or recommend any additive to help keep from getting flats?

Slime. The green stuff that you can get at most any farm or hardware store. But for use in our trucks I would not count on anything. Thesetruck are heavy and roll at igh rates of speed and that's a bad combo for tire shortcuts.

Any of the tire sealers are ok for an emergency short term fix but there are none for a long term preventitive measure. besides having a spare to get me to where i need to be or to the nearest repair facility i always keep a tire plug kit and i am going to get one of those mini compressors. they plug into the cig lighter and are small enough for the tool box or behind a seat and i think they are only about $20 at walmart. we use them in our tow trucks to inflate the spare tire on customers vehicles when we are called to a tire change.
