Default Need Some PYO Help

Ok, went to discount tire to have my tires rotated this afternoon. They decided to rotate and balance (although balance was never mentioned). I have always made them put the weights on the back of the wheels only. Well they pounded weights on the front of 3 of the wheels and damaged the finish. They have a guy the deal with bringing 3 take offs that are supposed to be in perfect condition tomorrow. Is there any thing I can look for to make sure these are actually OEM GM wheels and not knockoffs? Also, if they have been refinished is there anything that I can look at to tell??

I am so pissed right now. More about the fact this is just going to waste a ton of my time and all I needed was my tires rotated.

Dave, IIRC there will be a GM stamp on the backside of the wheels.

Lots of guys over at DP tried them with good results up to 100mph. After that they were having vibrating issues. Everyone that tried them had nothing but good to say.

That's the thing. I always tell them to only use weights on the back of wheels. I told them just to rotate only and the moron at the counter told the guys in the shop to rotate and balance. I could have had beads and they still prob would have tried to pound weights on them. I usually go back in the shop and watch, but was told its not allowed anymore. After this all happened I told the manager I was no longer obeying that rule because I could avoided the whole mess for everyone.

I think I am just going to ask them tomorrow if I can rotate my own tires from now on (I have air tools...not hard) and they won't give me any crap regarding my treadwear warranty. I have a feeling they will jump on that
