A good snow tire ≠ a good mud tire. They are basically mutually exclusive. You're best bet is an e-load range A/T tire for all-around performance if you tow and see snow. Mud tires or so-called M/T-type tires are horrible in snow.

Interesting. I bought a set of these based on their 40k mile warranty. I have about 30k on these, and I doubt I'll get to 40k. I've already talked to them about the "warranty", seeing as how I won't get 40k out of them. As soon as they found out that drive up and down winding mountain roads, they told me that they wouldn't warranty the tire. That being said, I won't buy procomps again. Trying to decide on my next tire now, as I will need to replace them after this winter.

I've had BFG A/T's and completely hated them. They sucked in rain, mud, sand, gravel, snow, and ice. I slid through so many stop signs it was unreal.... and I was trying to be overly cautious in most cases!

Right now I have ProComp Xtreme A/T's and they are the best tires I've ever had. I cant hear em when I'm cruising down the highway, they've gotten me out of some pretty sticky situations in deep mud and snow. They also have a 40 000 mile tread wear warranty on em. I've easily put over 40 000 miles on em and have tons of tread left. I wont ever buy another tire.

I've been running the Treadwright recaps on my 98 dodge ram 2500 for 2 years now, they are a 245/75/16, 10 ply load range E,they are made from new michelin casings, and are studdable, got studs in mine.
I plow with the truck and drive up into the boonies to go snowmobiling, great traction on hard pack snow and ice aswell as the deep snow.
At $292 for a set of four with a warranty I'm sold on them:tu:

The BFG A/Ts are bad in ice and snow, almost as bad as the M/Ts.

I am running Goodyear Duratracs in a 315/75/16 and I am VERY happy with them. We have been getting lots of snow and they are awesome.

Not sure on the tread life as I put them on in October and have only put maybe 4000 miles on them so far.

They were reasonable in price as well. I paid around $200 a tire.
