rockwells? or is there something else i can do to my truck?

Default rockwells? or is there something else i can do to my truck?

hi everyone, im new to this forum and im new to the off roading scene... i have a 1994 ford f-350 quad cab long bed. here r my spec....
6 in" suspension lift
3 in body lift
35" in nitto terra grapplers
20 in" rims
7.3 liter stage 3 injectors
5 spd manual tranny
single disk heavy duty clutch

what im looking to do is get 48 in" tires under it, with a nice look to it, i dont want them only having like an in or two or clearence, i know i can fit them now, also do i need to buff up my axles? i have stock at this moment... thank you for any input!

Just wanting a badass looking truck and one to play rough in!!

if your going to run 48 inch tires you might as well go to rockwells... and with that much lift you will clear alot of thing but then once you get on a side hill your going to roll it over on it side... so put a roll cage in it as well... and don't forget the 5 point seatbelts... cause your going to need them as well...

Oh wait there are not hills in Georgia.... just sand bars.... so build away....

Are you planning on running that on the road? If so you may not be legal with 48" tires...just a thought

A bigger stronger version of the Dana60 known as the Super 60 is found under the newer F-450 and 550's. Just replace the 10 lug dually hubs with some F-350 single wheel hubs. One of the 4x4 mags had an article on this swap recently (Petersons 4 wheel) I think. You can even buy one new at the Ford dealer. The article even had the part #.

How are you planning on wheeling it? How much? Stockers will hold up if your not really beating the **** out of it.

The biggest questions are...what type of wheeling are you looking to do? and are you looking for this to be street legal?

48s are big...but they aren't THAT big. A beefed up D60 can take a lot, especially if you're sticking to mud or sand. Plus, itlll be WAAAYYY less money.

Rockwells are cool, no doubt. Get two fronts and you can have rear steer The axles themselves aren't so much more expensive (compared to 1-tons), but the components (brakes, steering, mounting hardware) really start to add up, and are even more so if you're looking to keep it street legal.

Just depends on your goals and budget.

if your going with rockwells you might as well get 54in boggers
