I was thinkin about taking my rims on my dodge and sprayin them black and leaving the center cap chrome. Will the paint stick to the rims considering their chrome? Could i find a cheaper set to do it to? What do you all think?? For tires im lookin at 315 70 r17 general grabber hts for my next set.

maybe think about just some black steel with chrome center caps there devil dog. can get em pretty inexpensive and save the chrome stocks for whatever. if u want to paint the chromes best way is to probably have them bead blasted first.

you can get adhesive promoter to put on first and do some good prep and you should be good to go.

I had a buddy that painted his alum wheels black and left part of them polished and they turned out pretty good he just scuffed up the part he wanted to paint and taped off the part left polished. Turned out pretty sharp and the paint is still holding pretty good.

I've always heard, when painting ANYTHING, prep, prep, prep...

Maybe find a big powder-coating business and see if they would work your rims into a big batch of something and charge you like $20/rim or something like that... You would have to do all the prep work tho... sanding, etc... I recommend sand blasting or something similar...

Really, these are just my thoughts, i have no experience with it...
