37 inch with 2inch leveling kit?

I believe there was a dually on Cummins Forum running 37's.

it all depends on the wheel spacing, i was at an off road shop the other day and they were actually putting 37''s on a dodge with a leveling kit, and they drove it and flexed the suspension pretty good, there was a bit of rubbing here and there but not to much, wouldn't recommend it though, most 6" lift kits are designed to clear 37''s, I have 40''s on mine but there's been some trimming done

No. that's not what I am saying. If I ran a 34x12.50 tire, it would rub just as much as as a 35x12.50 tire. If a 34" tire DIDN'T rub, it would be because the tire is narrower than a 35" tire. If you put a 35x12.50x17 on a set of H2 wheels, with a bit more backspacing, on the same truck, you would have NO rubbing on the control arms, like currently have, so YES, I am saying backspacing of stock rims is why the 35x12.50's I have are rubbing.

I have run 35 x 12.5 x 17 Toyo M/T's on three trucks now, nothing more than 3" lift in front, 2" on 2 of them, on stock rims, and I have never had a rub of any kind. Lock to lock, no rub on the control arms. There should be no reason to run a rim with more backspacing, the H2's do look good though, but lots of nicer wheels out there, but you sure wont find one that is much stronger.

It is a pain to get them machined though...

This pick is with the 35's and 3" in the front, 1" in the rear. If you look close at the front wheel you will see the issue trying to run 37's...the tire is too close to the rear of the front fender. With longer control arms, you 'center' the axle into the fender well, and then 37's are no issue. Trust me, tried it, spent the money and learned the hard way

I agree, your post doesnt make sense...

35 x 12.5 and a 34 x 12.5 are BOTH 12.5" wide, the 34 would be an inch shorter but not narrower...

I think I know what you are trying to say, but its not the backspacing it is the circumferance we are talking about here, 35" vs 37". With a 2" lift it would not matter how narrow the tire, you will still rub.

Heck, Im even getting confused now...

ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL (important point to start with), a larger diameter tire will encounter clearance at the radius of the turning center with any given point in a 3D arc at a rate EXACTLY proportional to the size increase in either diameter and/or width. It's simple geometry.

Having said that, there is an almost infinite number of factors that go into the equation when you consider things like the individual vehicle's characteristics pertaining to exactly how the lift was done, along with the various possible wheel and tire specs. At the end of the day, asking what size tire will fit a 2" level kit is not exactly a very good question in itself.

The general rule of thumb as was stated earlier, is 35 max on an OTHERWISE STOCK TRUCK with levelling pucks. Rubbing doesn't count. It either rubs or it doesn't. If it rubs it doesn't fit. That's the rule. I just made it up, live with it! Aftermarket wheels don't count, unless they are stock size/spec. You can come up with all sorts of weird examples to disprove what I just said, so feel free to disagree, but that's pretty much the simple facts of the matter.

really?

Those tire have been on the truck for 8 months, it's a daily driven truck, it's main purpose is to be a daily driver and a tow pig.. so I see that as they are "working"

If you personally like the look of a truck that is lifted 6" to fit a tire that has a incresed tire radius of 2" then thats fine, it's your opinion, just like I had mine.

the op asked it if would work.. yes it works thats proof. If you intend on wheeling the truck, then there would be rubbing issues with 37's. Now to add, prior to the 37's, the truck was fitted with 35 Pro Comp xtreme AT's and it was wheeled on some easy local trails, and there was absolutly no rub.

I have posted pics to prove what I am saying and simply not regergitating information I read on the internet or what someone else told me. Truck is driven with 37" tires, and was wheeled with 35" tire.. all stock.

Not at all. the flares were aftermarket and added by the previous owner, I have no experience with a stock flare, if one is even equipt. So If your tuck doesn't have goofy flares like this truck, then you would not have to worry now would you.

As for the bumper, I was pretty clear with saying I could not confirm that it would clear a stock bumper since this truck was fitted with an aftermarket bumper prior to purchase.

I'm surprised to see 37s fitting a truck w/ little to no mod. I run 35s and I had to trim fenders. Just a little, but it had to be done. If I get crazy w/ it now hit a bump and take a turn it rubs, but most 4-wheelin is slow. I also have aftermarket wheels though with 4.5" backspacing. May be the problem... But they look good.

As for the original thread, I would say stick w/ 35s, but if you get 37s for a great deal. RUN EM! and trim your fenders
