hmmmmmmmmmm.......well this kit will be temporary until i get money for the grand daddy lift kit, the skyjacker 7" long arm. Im not overly concerned about axle wrap though as im stock power wise and dont usually mash on the pedal

Good thing you already plan to go long arms, because using coil spacers on top of 4.5" coils puts a short arm setup at a pretty steep angle. With the arms at that angle they can't move up very well giving you a stiff ride. In the rear, I like keeping a fairly soft spring for ride quality with a set of airbags for when I'm loaded down. I need to build so traction bars though to get rid of the axle rap.

Camotanker has 40s with 22" wheels with a 6" lift..

If your going long arms I would go with the Dickcepek long arms intsead of the SJ. the rest of the SJ kit is fine but it isnt a true long arm kit. unless they finally came out with one.

well. blocks arent too bad but these are blocks that you stack on top of your stock ones. I have seen quite a few pictures of the after market stack on blocks cracking and disapearing from rear leafs and giving the driver a fun ride. also they shift when used in off road situations.
But the biggest thing especially with a diesel is the twisting of the axle. The blocks go under the leaf pack raising it off the axle more which gives it more lift. but what it really does is create a weaker pivot point. so when you gas it the axle twists but when you have taller blocks it could twist alot more. I have seen people get away with it no problem but I wouldnt trust it especially with a diesel. |
ok
thanks for the info guys! |
no problem. that swhy we are all here

I have 6in superlift and before I installed the 3in bodylift, my 37's would rub the rear of the front fender. could not even get into my driveway without them wanting to tear off the fender. Now with the bodylift, I can clear 40's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well what width tire were ya running....im gonna run a 12.5 width which is the same basically as my 285s
|
285s are generally narrower than 12.50s. 305s to 315s are pretty equal to 12.50s.
