Hankook Dynapro mt RT03. Anyone running this tire? Any positives or negatives? I'm looking at this tire cause the price is right.$200 a tire.I really like the Toyo mt but $325 a tire is the best iv'e found. The hankook is 285-70-17 D The toyo is te 295 E

 

Positive: I'm still happy with the Hankooks. They are like you said a great value. They clear mud and snow with the best of them.

I've had one tire balanced twice since new. I keep getting the same tire developing a vibration/wobble. They are louder than the BFG's I had before (but that doesn't bother me at all)

In a perfect world, my next set will most likely be the Toyo 35"

 

From my experience and a few buddies that have used Hancooks... RUN! RUN AWAY! Worst tire ever. They weren't they RT03 but similiar. Miss one balance and they fall apart. The one's I had every second lug was 3/8" shorter... howled something fierce after that... all of that at about 18K.

 

Thats why you rotate your tires, . The C rated tires on my 99 (from the PO when I bought it, still use them around the farm in the winter) developed the same scalloping, where each lug was stepped to the next one. Rotated them, and they wore fine (put them on the Jeep). Loud as all get out for the first 5000 miles, but after that they looked fine. I've since replaced them with General Grabber A/T's, which actually look like they'll do reall good this winter.

 

I ordered some Toyo M/Ts a few weeks ago and was contacted after almost 2 wks to tell me that they were out of stock,so I ordered some 315/75/16 Hankook 03's after talking to a guy running them on his dodge 2500.He said they were wearing great and did good in the winter(we were in Iowa where it snowed alot last winter with some ice conditions mixed in).The main difference that I've noticed is the lack of any siping which the Toyo's do have.My delivery is scheduled for this weekend and I will be putting them on as soon as I can make it into a shop.

 

i had the hancook mts in a 295/75/16 on my truck and hated them in the snow no traction what so ever and in the mud, tarible they dont clear mud werth a sh*t my current 315/75/16 BFG all terrains do a better job in the mud than the hancooks, but thats just my opinion ive been wrong before

i know the toyos your not supposed to sipe because the tread breaks chunks of in the mud "i know i had a set that did it" and my next tire will be either a discover stt or a goodyear wrangler mtr

 

I don't know what kind of mud you're running in, but around here the BFG's just plain suck in the mud. They cake up so fast in the clay we have that you can be stuck in 4wd where a set of junk M/T's will get you out in 2wd.

My X-Terrains should be here next week, once they're on I'll have to do a write up.
