Default Rear end noise

Hi guys, so here's the deal my 07.5 dodge 2500 has a very loud rear end noise. It is not a whine or grinding/clicking. The noise I am told is a carrier bearing supposedly bad design by dodge. Any Truth? It is loud almost like a bad tire, but the tires are new (noise existed with old seperated tires). To describe it I guess would be a hum. It was also suggested axle bearings. Any help or same experiences would help. Thanks
