Default General suspension geometry ? ?

Seeking advice on modification of my leaf spring set up, ive got HD springs out of a late model ram and they are 6" longer than whats factory. Im going to flip the shackle hanger in the rear to match the setup in the late model truck, and put in a longer shackle. but i need any advice on getting the placment right for the front hanger ill have to move. Is it just as simple as moving it forward on the frame a few inches? From what i can see the front half of the spring is longer and im wondering what kinda work is involved in centering it on the axle and geting the angle of the drive shaft right.

Pinion angle is always going to be an issue with any type of rear suspension work, especially if it involves a lift. The carrier bearing-equipped drive-shafts are particularly sensitive to joint angles. My 1st Gen with 3" of lift works well with a broke-back angle setup in the drive-line, but I also have seriously effective custom traction bars installed on that.

What you are doing is a custom job you will have to measure out for the desired results yourself. I wouldn't trust any specs given for that setup by anyone except maybe a professional shop doing the work for me. I would consider the option of stretching the wheelbase a bit and doing all the associated mods that might require under the circumstances, but that's just me...

hey you know i haven't even thought of that, but to be honest that would solve a multitude of issues.. but not without a few new ones. but i guess it would almost correct the angle the drive shaft would be at by lengthening it.
I think ill have to consult a few custom shops on a longer drive shaft. but i guess that would be the expensive part. and i cant imagine that little of a distance changing cornering or road manners too much..

bet i could notch out a few inches behind each wheel well and swap peices of the fenders to opposite sides depending on how well the body lines match up. I kinda like the sound of lifted and "longer"

WAY TO COMPLICATE THINGS FOR ME! NOW ILL BE UP ALL WEEK! haha but thanks for the idea, thats kinda breathed new life in it for me
