Default and who said you can't race an ext cab long bed especially with a stick...

Well tonight I ran into this kid that I raced a month ago when I thought he had a smarrty still and ended up getting cut short because I ran my chip low and he changed to quad.

He's got an extended cab short bed auto with valve body upgraded and a tc lock up, intake, quad, airdog and now 5 inch turn outs.

Launched at 40 and give him a little head start to spool and I took off in 4th and out ran him to 90 then at 20 in 3rd to 80 and spanked him again.

He then pulled up next to me and asked if I had done something to the truck since we last raced and I said "turned the chip on " and drove off

I'm sure someone will say he lost because he was slipping or something but I'm still happy to say my big ol guy with a smaller chip and a stick, looking like turd with clear peeling covered in mud on stock wheels and size tires outran his fancy ricered up diesel with fancy wheels, fancy grill and hood with what looked like a sure fire win for him.

Who says sticks can hang with autos?

it's not entirely about everything you have done. it's about knowing how to drive. my old pickup was a 94 ford stroker 5 speed. i got pretty good at running thru the gears. i did it alot. then one day i lined up with a brand new GT mustang. and i thought ah what the hell. he's gonna stomp me. well it was going good til i missed 3rd but i jammed it in any ways and took every tooth off the gear. ooops. that was my last race with it.

I actually win quite a few "races". I can't win any races from a deal start but if we are rolling at any speed above 20mph, they dont stand a chance most of the time. I beat 2 other diesel trucks about a month ago. One was a pretty heavily tuned commonrail...........injectors turbo and really good smarty tunes. I didn't think I had a chance at all..........I was wrong. We started running around 55mph and went from there. By the time we were up to 85 I was gone. He may have had really slow gears though.

People always underestimate my 6 speed. As much as I hate it, I still race from a dig from time to time but usually end up belching smoke for a second before the turbo lights. From a roll on the other hand, no worrying about burning up the clutch by letting it out to slow, bogging and smoking from letting it out too slow, plus I'm already up on the boost. A ricer Evo VII decided he wanted to see what was up with a stockish-appearance diesel, he learned the hard way as his car became full of black smoke

that's awesome. they might think they're fast, but it's hard to see thru the smoke.
