Default Boost Launches

Ok iv got two questions...

First when i boost launch I usually just run it up to 1400 rpm in first and dump the clutch, well the other day i was racein my buddy in a mostly stock common rail and knowin his truck if i could get him off the line i could beat him so i ran it up a lil higher maybe 1600-1700 rpm and when i dumped the clutch again in first it hoped twice and then the diff poped into nutreal is there sometin wrong or just to high of rpm because this is the second time its done it...

And this leads to my next question how are some guys boost launchin in third gear and 2000 rpm? aftermarket clutch? or is there a special way you have to do that?

Do you let the clutch out slower or do u dump it because anytime iv tryed to dump the clutch in anything high than 1st it wants to stall out and seems alot slower than dumpin in first

I usually rev it to about 2400 or so and let the clutch out quickly. Don't dump it but try letting it slip a little before you let it all the way out.

This is in no way conducive to long clutch life. I would not recommend it on a stock clutch.

I use run my old 97 up to around 2800 and let the clutch out in 3rd. Went through several clutchs even bigger aftermarket ones. Along with several 5spds.

How big are your tires and what gears do you have if 2nd isn't working?

Bring them up to about 2800-3000 and just dump the clutch in 2nd and then hit 3rd quickly and if your shifts are good that will get you off the line
