ok so i have a friend that has a outta state friend and he wants to race my truck, I thought i get opinion 1st before i look like a fool. He has a 07 Roush charged F150, he says it comes with 500hp factory.... I have a feeling the truck will smoke on the interstate. Wat do you all think? Anyone raced a A/C 500?

 

he would kill you... end of story... even if you 2 had the same horsepower.. he would still win... his truck weighs less and gas, naturally, had quicker throttle response... you would need 600 horse... even then it would be hard with turbo lag

 

if it were me i'd do it...will you win i think it could go either way. i just read up on this thing and it says stock will run a 14.9 1/4 mile that's quick but not that quick...that's for a stage 3 roush f-150...here's a whole test for the truck:Full Test: 2007 Roush Performance Stage 3 Ford F-150 i think you could take it..

 

yeah i think i got him in a 1/8 for sure witha4x4 launch , he burns a lot of rubber 1-3 Gears. But i think top speed he will eat me up i think . I got smoked by a 90's lighting awhile back so Im kinda traumatized. I heard those trucks come with a methanol/water injection system factory.

 

A little looking put the 1999 Ford Lightning (highest output of all 90's lightnings?) at 360 hp @ 4,750 rpm - 440 lb/ft Torque @ 3,000 rpm.

Roush puts one of their 2007 Stage 3 F-150's at 445 hp at 5000 rpm and an even 500 pound-feet of torque at 3750 rpm.

Concidering a Lightning whipped up on ya a while back, a Roush could really put a hurting on you, that is, if your buddy knows how to drive it.

 

what trucks? the lighting?i'm ganna say no on that because up until 99 they wern't even supercharged.... i think in a 1/4 mile race you've got him...and if you really whant to beat him tell him the only way you'll race is with a trailer behind you with 10,000 lb on it....

pre-99 they were just 350 N/A motors... not that quick. The 99+ lightnings were supercharged 5.4 motors... they were quicker. I hope that's the one that beat you.

 

Just race him...even if you put up a loss on the list it would be a fun truck to loss to. I race anything that wants to race in any vehicle I own both of which are slow. 115mph top on mustang V6 and 100mph with the needle buried on my Bronco.

but its fun to do. oh try racing a stage 3 roush super snake mustang . I rode in one of those and I had the biggest smile ever. 157 and he wasnt even close to redlining.

I asked how fast we were going. He replied, "We had some speedo left!" My friend was in the back seat and told me 157. It was the funnest ride I have ever been on, and it will roast them tires through all the gears with the traction control on.
