6.0 ftw. They are very quick with not a lot of work. I raced a stock '07 or '08 dmax w/ my '99 psd, 6spd, plugged wg, tymar intake and straight pipe. off the line he'd brakeboost the **** outta it and kill me. Top end I'd actually hang with him pretty good.

Did you guys both launch the same way? equal reaction times?

What kind of tune did you end up running on your truck? 6.0 vs 6.6 could go either way depending on what your tune was. They're both fast trucks but the 6.0 also has an edge with the more robust tranny. The 6.6 with Edge isn't that great, and the allison isn't that strong in OD as has been mentioned.

Next time you gotta follow up man! To be honest I had a feeling the 6.0 would take the cake, sadly enough haha.

Now, a race with a 12v against a 6.slow is a totally different story

I call bs.

I had a '99 psd, 6spd, 250, long bed ext cab. With a plugged wg, tymar and straight pipe it would kick it pretty good. I'd keep up with my buddies '07 duramax on the top end.

My '97 1-ton 12v would smoke the **** out of everythign I've ever raced including a new turbo audi without really trying. And I had about 100$ tops into my 12v.

A 7.3 with a tuner and supporting mods will not put down more than 300-305hp to the crank with the stock turbo.

My 12v with a 35$ fuel plate and adjusable boost elbow would pull 350-380hp to the WHEELS.

It's getting deep in here now....

So you're taking a motor that has less than 200hp from the factory at the wheels and almost doubling it with a fuel plate and a boost elbow?

Less than 200hp? Try 214 hoss

Research it. Fuelplate/intake/exhaust/tuned afc 214pump truck are putting down damn near 400hp and 800lbs of torque give or take.

I know what they make.

A properly tuned 6.6 should have no problem spanking a 6.0, IF it can get the power to the ground.

What cab/bed configurations are the trucks in question anyways?

We both launched the same way.
Cab and bed configs are both crew cab with short box
my friends 6.6 will beat me now because he has a suncoast tranny and some other goodies.
85 305: Im your Huckleberry...my 6.0 will be at half throttle whenever your trying to keep up
