Beech Bend Dragway Test Run

Beech Bend Dragway Test Run
Well we opened the tack today for test and tune. Before we did, me and the owner made a run to check the timers and tree. It's the first time I've had the opportunity to run this truck down the track. I blew a head gasket between the 1/8 and 1000 ft mark so I had to shut down early and coast though the trap, but here's the times.
R/T .0962
60' 1.83
1/8th 8.06 @ 85 mph
1000' 10.03
1/4 12.70 @ 94 mph
pretty good R/T and 60', the 8th looked good, but you can see between the 1/8 and 1/4 I was shut down. I think the truck had a low 12 in her if I'd run it out the end.
Gonna re-install the 12v MLS gasket kit from Scheid in a week or two. I'd like to go with a full head build for 3K, but can't afford it yet. The MLS will hold a few more PSI than the studs and marine, and it'll lower the compression ratio some as well. Anyway, off to the drawing board.....have to be ready for the TS Outlaw race at the end of April!!
