1st Springer Of The Season
#2
#5
Washington river We were fishing for Steelhead.
The is the largest Springer I have gotten this early. I pull larger Springers off the Columbia every year.
I don't even want to tell you what gear I was using... We were boon ******* with ultralight rods, spinning gear, 10# mainline and 8# ultragreen leader with #4 hooks. Sure is nice to be able to chase 'em with a boat!
No camera as we were fishing Steelies. Honestly, I forgot to throw mine on the boat and the clients didn't bring one either. The good news is that we limited on Steelies. +1 Springer.
Springers are a Spring returning Chinook Salmon. Highly prized for the taste, texture and fight, these fish bring the highest guiding fees of any fish out there. Not to mention that we are forecast to have a season in the top 3 ever.
No question where I'll be.
