A friend of mine brought his girlfriend over and we went shooting, here first time shooting a shotgun so seeing how we only had the 12 gauges out there, we set her up with my old (my grandfathers) Remington model 10, she loved it. She was a little scared at first, shot it once, then waited a little while, shot it a couple more times, then kept shooting. Wouldn't touch the Franchi though...
All in all, was a good day, my shoulder is even discolored from the side by side.
On a side note, my mother can still hit a beer can at 25 yards with a revolver.

Yea, I was jumping a little with the Model 10, and the Franchi, so I grabbed the short barrel side by side, and pulled the front trigger first, then when the guy running the trap asked if I was ready for a second clay I opened it and let two empties hit the ground... Didn't jump again all day.
I suppose when you don't shoot a 12 gauge for almost 2 years you just need a good kick to get back into it.

Just picked up a used Remington 870 12ga and took it out to a buddy's farm to function test it and check the shot pattern for home defense use. Starting a new job, so I took it easy to avoid messing up my shoulder and giving myself a disadvantage from the start Point of impact is a bit high, need to put some more rounds through it to adjust my point of aim. I've seen a few picatinny rail options for 870s, but I think they might get in the way when bird hunting. I'll just have to put more rounds through. Such a sacrifice
